cremation services in Daytona Beach, FLMore and more families and individuals are announcing cremation services in Daytona Beach, FL over social media today. They might share the obituary, or let their friends know they are going through a hard time. It connects them to distant relatives and friends who otherwise would never know about the death and it can be a good way to spread the word.

Some people even use the social media world to garner the support they need and there are others who enjoy offering encouragement and sympathy through it. If you feel uncomfortable offering sympathy and condolences in person, reaching out over social media can really be up your alley. IF the person opens the door by placing the obituary on their page or posting something about the death, you are able to comment and offer your support.

When you see the death announcement on social media, don’t simply respond immediately. You need to take time to truly read the announcement and craft your response. A crying face emoji is nice and all, but you might want to appear more sincere. You can place a comment under the announcement, but if you’re at all close with the person who posted, you might also want to send them a private email or text message to express your sympathy in a more personal manner.

You also want to be very careful about handling information online. Unless the immediate family member of the person who passed on is the one announcing the death, you don’t want to share it or announce it yourself. The last thing you want is to be the person who tells extended family who haven’t yet heard about the death. Refrain from sharing the information online and let the family handle spreading the word themselves. You can still comment on the post and send an email of support, but you don’t need to hit the share button this time.

Just because you see an announcement online doesn’t mean you absolutely have to publicly console the family. You can avoid making a comment and instead send a card of support to the cremation provider so the family will get the personal condolence, if that’s what you want to do. There’s nothing wrong with doing both, either.

Whatever you decide to do, don’t ask questions about how the person died over social media. IT’s not the right place for those kinds of questions and you might be seen as disrespectful. If you want more details, contact the people in private to discuss matters with them.
