Apopka, FL cremationIf you are in charge of someone’s final services, you want things to be just right. It’s a way of honoring them and it’s also a way of allowing loved one’s to get closure and say goodbye. If you’ve already decided to go with Apopka, FL cremation for the disposition method, you have one big decision out of the way. However, there are a lot of other decisions to make about the services that can follow the cremation. Here are a few things to consider:

Keep Things Traditional

Just because you’ve chosen to go with cremation doesn’t mean you can’t keep things traditional for the memorial service. Memorial services can move forward much like traditional burial services, only without the casket. You can have your loved one present in an urn and sing hymns, give eulogies, and continue on with your family’s traditions. There is nothing wrong with proceeding in that manner if that makes you the most comfortable.

Have A Memorial Service Elsewhere

Memorial services are not limited at all in that they can be held anywhere at any time. Memorial services can be held at funeral homes or within churches, but they can also be held in someone’s house, in a park, or anywhere else. You can have a full service or a short service around the scattering of the ashes. Memorial services are whatever you make of them and they can be held right away or at a later date. You can even have more than one.

Memorial Services While Scattering Ashes

If your loved one wants their ashes scattered over the ocean, in a park, or somewhere else, you can have a service revolving around that process. You can have the service in a funeral home, followed by a scattering service elsewhere. Or, you can have the scattering service alone and involve just close family members and friends.

Personalize As Needed

Memorial services are virtually limitless because you can personalize them in any way you’d like. You can go traditional or you can play your loved one’s favorite music. You can display photos and videos of them or even memorabilia they enjoyed while they were alive. You can do whatever you want for a memorial service, which is very freeing to show their personality and unique life elements.

There are some families that even like to hold celebrations of life instead of somber memorial services. They want to show that your loved one lived their life well.
